Web preview

Can I use Teleprompt Overlay in a browser?

Yes, the reachable browser workspace is a preview for local drafts and reading in a browser tab. It cannot float above your camera app or another desktop app because browsers do not have permission to draw a system-wide overlay.

What is available in the web preview

The browser preview lets you write local drafts and read a script inside the same tab. It is useful for preparing text before opening a native app for an overlay recording.

Keep the browser and its local storage available when you need a draft. A browser-local draft is different from a confirmed, end-to-end shared account sync across native stores and devices.

Why a browser reader cannot be an overlay

Browsers are limited to their own tabs and windows. They cannot place a trusted system-wide panel above Camera, a video call app, or another application in the way a native iOS, Android, or Mac app can.

That limitation is intentional operating-system security behavior. Use a native app when the main requirement is to read a script while another app remains foregrounded.

    Accounts and shared access

The browser workspace is a preview. Shared script sync and cross-platform Premium are beta features; an existing store purchase may need to be restored in its original app before shared access appears.

Use store purchase management on the device and store where you bought Premium. The browser preview does not make a claim that it can restore or manage every store purchase.

When the browser is the right choice

Choose the web preview when you want a browser-based draft and a tab reader. Choose the native mobile apps when you need a floating script over a camera or another app.

    1. Open the browser workspace.
    2. Create or edit a local draft.
    3. Read it in the tab, or move the script to a native app for an overlay workflow.

    Questions and answers

Can the web reader float over Zoom or Camera?
No. It stays inside its browser tab because browsers cannot create system-wide overlays.
    Are web drafts stored locally?
Yes. The preview keeps drafts locally in the browser.
Can I rely on web and mobile purchases syncing?
No such end-to-end commercial cross-platform licensing flow is verified yet.
Is the browser workspace a finished public release?
It is reachable as a preview, while its broader general-release status is still being validated.
