Where can I use Teleprompt Overlay?
Teleprompt Overlay is publicly available for iPhone, iPad, and Android through their official stores. A native Mac build is in internal beta, with a floating reader above your camera or recording app on the MacBook, while the browser workspace is a preview with local drafts and a reader that stays inside its browser tab. Other desktop platforms are planned without a release date yet.

iPhone, iPad, and Android
The mobile apps are the public way to use Teleprompt Overlay. On iOS, the script appears in a Picture in Picture panel. On Android, the app uses the system's Draw over other apps permission so the script can remain visible while you record elsewhere.
The official store pages are the source for the version, device support, privacy details, and price that apply to your device. Android beta and store versions can differ, so a feature visible in a beta is not automatically a promise about the public store release.
Mac status
The native Mac app currently targets Apple silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. It is an internal TestFlight beta, currently identified as 2.5.0 (32), and does not have a public download or join link.
On a MacBook the floating reader sits above compatible camera and recording apps: place the panel near the lens and record with the app you already use. The app does not record the camera itself, and a screen recording can still show the panel.
Saved scripts can sync across your devices with a shared account, a beta feature. The Mac beta also keeps scripts locally as JSON files and usage counters in Keychain, and saved scripts and fixed-speed playback work offline. Other desktop platforms are planned without a release date yet.
Browser workspace preview
The browser workspace is reachable as a preview. It keeps drafts locally in the browser and provides a reader in that tab; it is not presented as a finished general-release replacement for the native apps.
A web page cannot draw a system-wide panel over another app. Use a native app when you need the script to float above Camera, a recording app, or any other app outside the browser.
Choose the right surface
Choose iOS or Android when your recording workflow needs an on-screen overlay. Use the browser preview to draft and read in one tab, and treat the Mac build as an internal beta until a public release is announced.
- Need an overlay above another app: use iOS, Android, or the Mac beta.
- Need a browser draft or tab reader: use the web preview.
- Need a public installation link today: use the App Store or Google Play.
Questions and answers
- Is there a public Mac download?
- No. The Apple silicon Mac app is an internal TestFlight beta, so there is no public download or join link.
- Can the web version float over my camera app?
- No. Browsers cannot draw a system-wide overlay over other apps; the web reader stays in its browser tab.
- Do iOS and Android have the same release at the same time?
- Not necessarily. They are separate native apps and the public store version can differ from an internal or beta build.
- Does an account make purchases work across every platform?
- Shared accounts, script sync, and cross-platform Premium are being tested in beta. For an existing purchase, use Restore Purchases in the app and store where you bought it.
- Is Teleprompt Overlay coming to other desktop platforms?
- Other desktop platforms are planned without a release date yet. The Mac app remains an internal beta, and the browser preview already runs on any desktop, but its reader stays inside the browser tab.
Public downloads: App Store · Google Play. Mac availability is described on the Mac beta page.
