Teleprompt Overlay help and common answers
Start by installing the public iOS or Android app, creating a script, and choosing fixed-speed or voice-gated reading. If the panel needs to stay above another app, grant the relevant system permission and test a short recording first.

Start with a script
Create or import a script, choose readable text and fixed speed, then start the reader. Fixed-speed reading has no one-hour cap, so use a pace that feels natural rather than relying on a time limit.
Current content limits can differ by platform and release. On current iOS and Mac content behavior, saves and edits count toward a shared 10-item creation budget; two active scripts gate manual creation, while imports have a separate allowance of up to 10.
Make the overlay visible
On iOS, use the Picture in Picture panel. On Android, allow Draw over other apps. The Mac build uses a floating panel but remains an internal beta for Apple silicon Macs on macOS 13 or later.
If you only need a draft and reader in a browser tab, use the web preview. A browser cannot make a system-wide overlay above another application.
Troubleshoot voice scrolling
Voice scrolling listens to local sound levels, then runs only at the fixed speed you chose while the voice gate is open. It does not recognize words, transcribe speech, or calculate an automatic pace.
Move to a quieter space, adjust the configured speed, or use fixed speed alone. Another app holding the microphone can prevent Teleprompt Overlay from capturing sound.
Get purchase and platform help
