How does Teleprompt Overlay work on iPhone and iPad?

Teleprompt Overlay for iOS puts your script in a Picture in Picture panel that can stay visible while you use another app. Its voice option gates a fixed scroll speed from local sound levels; it does not recognize words or match your pace automatically.

    Get the iOS app

Install Teleprompt Overlay from the official App Store listing for your iPhone or iPad. The store page shows the current public version, supported OS versions, local price, and privacy information for your region.

The iOS app is separate from Android and Mac builds. Treat the App Store listing as the public record when a beta behavior and a public store behavior differ.

    Read beside your camera

The iOS script panel uses Picture in Picture, which lets the text remain on screen while you switch to a camera or recording app. Put the panel near the lens, choose a comfortable type size and speed, then begin recording in the app you normally use.

The camera feed normally does not contain the floating panel because the panel is drawn on the screen rather than burned into the feed. Screen recording or screen sharing can capture it, so review the result for the recording method you chose.

    Scripts and creation limits

The iOS free allowance covers 10 total new-script creations or saved content edits. Manual creation stops when two scripts are already in the library. Imports have a separate 10-import allowance and can increase the library beyond two scripts.

Reading has no one-hour time limit. Title-only changes do not use a content-save allowance. Premium removes the free creation and import limits.

    Voice-gated scrolling

Voice scrolling reacts to sound level locally on the device. It scrolls at the speed you configured while the gate hears your voice, then stops when that gate closes; it does not transcribe the script or know whether you are ahead or behind.

A microphone already in use by another app can prevent voice capture. If that happens, use fixed-speed reading or free the microphone and try again.

    1. Create or select a script.
    2. Set text, placement, and a fixed scrolling speed.
    3. Start the Picture in Picture panel, open the camera app, and record.

    Questions and answers

Does iOS voice scrolling follow my words?
No. It uses local sound levels to gate a configured fixed speed; it does not recognize words or automatically match speaking pace.
Will the panel appear in my camera video?
Usually the camera feed excludes it. A screen recording or screen share can include the panel, so there is no universal invisibility guarantee.
Is there a one-hour reading limit?
No. Fixed-speed reading is unlimited rather than capped at one hour.
Where do I get the official iOS app?
